As part of an ongoing investigation into a pared down version of the Black Diamond quartet, Artie Black and Hunter Diamond will present compositions and improvisations using a variety of wind and percussion instruments.
This concert is presented by Homeroom Chicago, an independent, non-profit resource for creative Chicagoans to develop and produce new and original arts programming.
We are thrilled to release our new album “Chant” at Elastic Arts as a part of ZOETIC - A celebration of aural, visual, and botanic arts. We’re partnering with Marine Tempels, who will be Elastic’s featured visual artist from March - May. (Marine also designed the artwork and layout for both Black Diamond records). Bweza Itaagi, founder of plant shop Ebimera Vines, will contribute to Marine’s exhibit and enhance the festive atmosphere with fauna. If that’s not enough, our bassist Matt Ulery will be serving up home- cooked food as part of the gallery open house.

We are thrilled that our dear friend and mentor, master clarinetist and composer James Falzone will be back in Chicago to share the stage with us. Since moving from Chicago to Seattle, James has taken charge of the music program at the famed Cornish College of the Arts. He blows minds, every time.
